2015 Retaliation Charges – EEOC Publishes Statistics

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) recently published its 2015 charge statistics. See this link from the EEOC’s website for more details. As you can see from these charge statistics, all types of charges continue to be threats to employers. But, the threat of a current or former employee suing its employer for retaliation is even more serious being that retaliation was the number one type of claim filed in 2015. There were nearly 38,000 retaliation charges filed in 2015, representing almost 45{c91082aefe0e580fe546c40af534787b48cfd474f8c9ab8dac50bf49a7a1c43a} of all charges filed.
